This ripe and plummy red takes its name from the three belltowers or 'Les Trois Seigneurs' - one in each of the villages from which the Merlot grapes were sourced, Alaigne, Belvèze and Routier.
These lie in the Bas-Razes district of the Aude, between the beautiful, walled medieval town of Carcassonne and Limoux - famous for being the first place (so its inhabitants say) to produce sparkling wine in a bottle.
The opulent, upfront fruit of this red makes it a deliciously easy glass to enjoy on its own. It's great too with chicken, roasted vegetable and halloumi kebabs or pork cassoulet.
